The 3rd generation Tacoma is one of the best offroad vehicles on the market. But even the best vehicle gets stuck at some point. Whether in mud, snow or sand, you’ll find there is no good place to attach a recovery strap. No more crawling underneath your truck in the mud to anchor to the stock tow point.

The Mobtown Front Recovery Bar solves this issue by adding two solid anchors for shackles. Two 3/4″ thick plates hang 7/8″ shackles from the grille for a solid pulling point to get unstuck fast. Center 2″ receiver adds more versatility to the front of your truck. The receiver works with many aftermarket hitch accessories including D-Rings, baskets, fishing rod holders, and winch cradles. This is the most versatile hidden hitch you can get.

This unit is designed for easy installation and minimal trimming of the front bumper to keep the stock look.

Installed on 2016 DC TRD Off Road. Love it. Instructions deviate at step 8. There is NO plastic filler. Loosen black overfenders–reach inside fender well to detach 2 clips. The bumper needs to be pulled towards rear, then away from wheel well to detach. There are 2 plastic fins perpendicular to bumper-which are held in place by 1 push clips-2 plastic clips. These needed to be removed and trimmed to re install. Cont to step 11. You will need to remove factory Recovery Hook on passenger side and #17 metric bolt on each side . Install MobTown Recovery Hitch. Use supplied #17 metric bolt/washer/nut to attach to frame. Tighten these bolts first–sets vertical height. Reuse factory bolts to secure to frame. Re install aluminum crash bar–USING only 1 bolt/nut–lowest hole on Recovery bar–this allows clearance of lower supports and correct height to secure to bolts in step 5. Notch plastic in wheel well to accommodate new Recovery Bar. Use sharp knife to trim lower grill. Re install plastic fins–cut just below large plastic clip. Recovery Bar was picked up 5/20/16–newest version of Mobtown Recovery Bar.

I haven’t installed my recovery bar yet but if it’s half as good as the customer service I’m sure it will be fine.
